Kentish Town Sports Centre Kentish Town Sports Centre
Through the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) process, Watts secured the role of CDM Coordinator on this prestigious London Borough of Camden project. The design team were given the challenge of providing a modern flexible sports centre for the 21st century. The three existing swimming pools were retained along with the façade and terracotta embellishments to the front and side elevations. The design extended to provide residential accommodation to the old engineering building and the original superintendant accommodation. Watts' brief was to maximise the sports centre facilities while providing affordable and residential housing. The 1901 original facade and features are to be incorporated within the complex for the community of Camden to utilise.
