The design team, lead by project managers, had developed an impressive design for this scheme which will provide much needed specialist facilities for the university. The proposed development is in a prominent location in this inner city area and is to be situated on land within the ownership of the university. The development extends up to six storeys in height and is located in close proximity to residential properties within a conservation area. The local authority raised concerns regarding a terrace of listed residential properties within a reasonable distance to the development. Watts produced a comprehensive daylight and sunlight amenity report following a review of the proposals, site inspection, review of archive information, compiling of a 3D CAD model, running of computer analysis, review of findings and production of a report to support the planning application.
