The Royal Albert Hall The Royal Albert Hall
The Grade 1 listed Royal Albert Hall is one of the country’s most treasured and iconic buildings. It was opened in 1871 by Queen Victoria . Watts was commissioned to produce a detailed Building Reinstatement Valuation. Due to our detailed Historic elemental analysis, the reinstatement cost was reduced by some 70% in comparison to the previous policy allowance, offering a welcome policy saving to the client. Watts was commissioned subsequently to carry out a full condition survey and planned maintenance programme including building structure and fabric, building services, and the grounds of the Royal Albert Hall. This survey fed into a long term maintenance cost strategy to enable the Royal Albert Hall Trustees to decide upon the overall funding reserve required and the split between day-to-day operational maintenance and long term restoration projects.
