Watts Service Focus

CDM Consultancy - what’s included?

Watts has a designated health and safety team that provides a range of services to ensure clients are compliant with current legislation.

As members of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) the Association for Project Safety (APS) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), our specialist team can offer a range of CDM consultancy services to determine whether or not clients existing health and safety policies comply with current legislation, and to review and redevelop best practice where necessary.

Watts can take on the role of CDM coordinator for both large and small projects and the scope of this service includes:

  • Site visits – fact finding
  • Notify the Health and Safety Executive with the F10 Notification Form
  • Analyse what needs to go into the Pre-Construction Information Pack and put it together
  • Work with the design team, through design team meetings, health and safety coordination meetings
  • Advise on all health and safety issues that arise out of the design
  • Advise on the principal contractor’s plan and help them revise as necessary
  • Attend the pre-start meeting with principal contractor
  • Coordinate delivery of Health and Safety File

To allow Watts to fulfil this service, clients are required to provide:

  • Drawings – and (depending on stage in design) specification;
  • Time – to review design and help to highlight any health and safety issues that arise; and
  • Relevant reports and surveys – any that exist or are commissioned (asbestos, ground, etc).

By working closely with our clients, Watts aim to be a conduit for ideas, not a barrier to design – and to help deliver projects quickly and safely. All projects are different and therefore the cost of our range of CDM consultancy services differs depending on client requirements.

To find out more about any of these services, or to discuss your health and safety compliance, contact John Wrightson, Associate Director at Watts Group PLC, on 0117 927 5800
