Harry Dowey joined Watts in September 2007 as lead director of the Belfast office. Much of Harry's previous 20-year plus experience in construction and property has been with the public sector. Harry spent over ten years as a building surveyor with DOE(NI), involved in the maintenance and development of the governments property portfolio. Harry then moved to the post of conservation manager with Environment and Heritage Service. His management role included surveying and specifying for some iconic sites such as Dunluce Castle and Hillsborough Castle. At the end of 2004 Harry moved to the private sector taking up the role of associate director with Anderson Williamson Ltd where his dual role was the management of the building surveying section and the coordination of the building surveying and quantity surveying arms of the company.

With an excess of 20 years work in a construction environment Harry has ‘hands on’ experience in most areas of building surveying from defects surveys to project management. Much of his recent experience has been in building conservation and asbestos management.
