“Problems are often not black or white. The broad knowledge and experience you gain as a building surveyor enables you to understand, and solve, those tricky grey problems!”

Tom Kibblewhite is a chartered building surveyor and joined Watts in 2003.  Based in the Manchester office, Tom initially gained valuable experience in the housing team dealing with refurbishment and maintenance schemes throughout the North West.

Tom now heads the neighbourly matters and public sector service delivery in Manchester, forming a key part of the Manchester commercial building surveying team.  His experience in providing consultancy services and surveys, across a wide range of projects and industry sectors, has lead to Tom gaining particular experience in the provision of these services to the public sector.

Tom’s particular areas of interest include:

• Rights to light, party wall and other neighbourly matters
• Commercial building surveys including dilapidation surveys
• Building pathology and deleterious materials
• Contract administration, repair, refurbishment and extension

Tom regularly speaks for the RICS on a wide range of building surveying related topics such as neighbourly matters and building defects.  Tom is a committee member of the North West branch of the Pyramus & Thisbie Club – a club that promotes excellence in party wall practice.
