Watts appoints new Associates


Steve Burnell BSc (Hons) MRICS of Watts’ Birmingham office, Denis Doherty BSc ASCS MRICS and Oliver Held BSc (Hons) MRICS of Watts’ Dublin office, have accepted invitations to become Associates within the Group.

Steve Burnell joined Watts' Birmingham office in 2007 to develop the project management and quantity surveying function across the Midlands.  A chartered project manager and a member of RICS, he is responsible for project management service delivery and business development, which has resulted in a number of successes.  The most significant is the Group’s commission with a university, which has a number of ongoing schemes in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.

Denis Doherty joined Watts in 2002 and is now the longest serving staff member within the Dublin office.  A chartered surveyor and a member of both RICS and Society of Chartered Surveyors, Denis is responsible for the projects team within the office.  His expertise covers a number of areas, including defects analysis and dilapidations.  Denis is also a Level 3 Conservation Surveyor after completing his studies with the Dublin Civic Trust.

A chartered surveyor, Oliver Held joined Watts' Dublin office in 2007.  His expertise in all areas of commercial building surveying led to his recent appointment as Chairman of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Building Surveying Division.  This high profile position is in recognition of his efforts in promoting the Society and the work that surveyors undertake.  In addition, he is a member of RICS Dilapidations Forum and as a fluent German speaker, has assisted Watts’ offices in Germany on several due diligence commissions.
