Red Tape Challenge tackles health and safety

Are you sick of health and safety regulations that do not support common sense business practices? If so, here’s your chance to do something about it. From 30 June, health and safety regulation became the focus of the Government's Red Tape Challenge, launched by the Prime Minister in April.

The aim of the challenge is to give people the chance to have their say on regulations that affect their everyday lives – and this includes legislation that affects the workplace. The new focus on health and safety is being heralded as an opportunity for people to simplify and directly influence the future of health and safety regulation and to support business growth by reducing the amount of red tape that companies are obliged to deal with on a daily basis.

The government has pledged to act on the comments received and therefore it is important to generate a well-informed debate. Which regulations should stay, which should go and which should change? If you have strong views about the health and safety regime and the impact this has on your working practice or business operation you can have your say at www.redtapechallenge.cabinetoffice.gov.uk
