Courtauld Institute carbon management plan

The Courtauld Institute of Art is one of the world’s leading centres for the study of the history and conservation of art and architecture and is an independent college within the University of London. Based at Somerset House, its Gallery is home to one of Britain’s best-loved collections.  Reducing carbon emissions is critical to The Courtauld to meet the many targets academic institutions are set and, along with colleagues from Sustain, we’ve been working with the facilities team to identify how energy usage can be better managed. We’ve also been benchmarking The Courtauld against other colleges and galleries as well as looking at what’s known as ‘Scope 3’ emissions which include procurement and business travel.
