The Watts Pocket Handbook, now in its 27th year, is the Group’s flagship publication. Each year, a team of internal contributors and external specialists provides information and guidance on a vast selection of subjects ranging from cost management to construction defects. The original inspiration for the Watts Pocket Handbook came from a worn copy of the 1864 edition of the Hurst's 'Handbook for Surveyors', which was found while clearing out an office that had been used by a firm of surveyors since 1840. The first edition was published in 1983 and contained 62 pages. Since then, it has continued to grow in size and content, with 472 pages making up the latest edition published in February 2011.
